L.I.T.

  Leaders In Training Program

LEADERS IN TRAINING (L.I.T.)
GENERAL INFORMATION

The Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA is dedicated to the Leaders in Training program offered during Summer Camp. Teens learn leadership, employment and child development skills. Teens who participate as L.I.T.s are representatives of the YMCA while at camp. Interacting with campers and representing the YMCA requires a certain level of maturity. For this reason, the Fieldwork program is very selective. Upon completion of the L.I.T. Training Course, teens will (or will not) be invited to participate in the Fieldwork program. L.I.T.s will be required to follow the YMCA Camp Staff Dress Code. Returning L.I.T.s must enroll in L.I.T. Training Course in order to be eligible for fieldwork.

LEADERS IN TRAINING (L.I.T.)
FIELD WORK
The Fieldwork program is an opportunity for L.I.T.s to use their leadership skills in the field of camp and enjoy the rewards of working with the YMCA’s incredible staff team. Experience first-hand what it’s like to work with children in a camp atmosphere, and give them a positive experience that will last a lifetime. L.I.T.s will experience various camp programs, assist in the daily operations of camp, and receive valuable on-the-job experience that will help build a strong foundation for either a recreational or child-care career.
