Teen Strength Training Programs  
   

 

The Strength Training Center includes a complete line of Cybex strength training equipment, and a large selection of free weights. Our center also includes StairMasters, LifeCycles, Quinton treadmills, Reebok and Precor elliptical trainers and Concept II rowing machines for cardiovascular training. An instructor is available to answer questions, provide assistance and give equipment orientations.

Young Adult members 13 to 17 years of age are welcome to use the Strength Training Center after they have completed the teen orientation program.

       
    Teen Orientation  
   

Required for members 13 -17 years, this orientation teaches basic fitness principles, proper use of the facility and equipment, correct form and technique. Students will learn how to design and maintain a fun and effective exercise program.


The Teen Orientation has two parts:

  • Equipment orientation
  • Quiz

Members: FREE
Non-members $10 day-use fee

    Teen Strength Training  
   

Ages:13-17

Teens will participate in a group to learn proper form and gain strength. Class held in the Strength Training Center. Program offered in monthly sessions.

Days Tuesdays/Thursdays
Times: 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA offers a various strength-training programs throughout the year to help you maximize the efficiency of your workout plan.

 
     
 

Teen Personal Training

Ages 13-17 yrs.

Our trainers will design your 55-minute workout and lead you through each exercise providing guidance and motivation in a comfortable, friendly environment. You may meet with your trainer as often as you like.

We also offer the following specialty personal training:

  • Sports specific training
  • Balance, core strength
  • Flexibility training

All of our trainers are certified through one or more of the following organizations:

  • American Council on Exercise
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association
  • YMCA of the USA
  • American College of Sports Medicine
  • UCSD Extension Exercise Science
    or a degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology or related field
