What are the eligibility requirements to work for the YMCA?

We consider all qualified applicants that are legally able to work in the United States. Age requirements will be listed on the individual positions under the qualifications. The minimum age of employment for the YMCA is 16 years old.

How can I speak to someone about my résumé or my interests?

If you have questions about the qualifications of a position or general questions about the position, you may contact the Human Resources Recruiter with any questions or concerns. If it is a more specific question about your interests and the position you applied for, the supervisor or director will be more than happy to address those questions if you are called for an interview.

After you review the positions available and find the best match, there are multiple ways to apply for the positions(s). Check Current Openings page online, you can apply online by completing an application. If you are interested in checking out our facility you can come by our main facility and complete an application. How is the information for the Equal Employment Opportunity used and is it confidential?

The information completed in the Equal Employment Opportunity section of the application will be kept confidential. The information is for applicant tracking purposes only. The Human Resources department will separate that portion from your application before sending it to the hiring supervisor or director.

Once I’ve submitted an application or resume, what is the next step?

Your application or resume will be routed to the appropriate supervisor or director. The supervisor or director will review your application or resume. If it is determined that there is a possible match for the position, your will be contacted to schedule an interview.

How long after submitting an application or resume can I expect to hear from the YMCA?

Depending on the schedule of the director or supervisor and the deadline of the job announcement, you will be notified as early as a few days and as long as 2 weeks after applying for a position. If you have questions about the status of your application, you many call the Human Resources Recruiter.

How can I be sure that my application was received?

If you submit an application online, you will automatically receive a confirmation email. If you submit a resume via email, you will receive an email confirming your resume was received. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the Human Resources Recruiter.
