12-Week Personal Fitness Program

 
   

 

Designed for the beginning exerciser or anyone returning from time off, our 12-week Personal Fitness Program will help you make exercise a habit. The program incorporates cardiovascular and strength training machines in a separate workout area that provides a comfortable setting. Our instructors will monitor your progress over the course of the following 12 weeks. Your program grows as your fitness levels increases!

 

       
    The Facts  
   

WHAT?
A progressive 12-week fitness program designed specifically to get you into the habit of exercising. The program incorporates cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and flexibility. Instructors provide as little or as much help as you need and a bit of extra attention to help you stay motivated. Note: The Personal Fitness Center also offers orientations for those who do not wish to participate in the Personal Fitness Program.

WHO?
Beginning and returning exercisers who wish to start a regular exercise program and have had trouble
working out consistently in the past. Participants are encouraged to work out three times a week minimum.
The program is FREE to all Ecke YMCA members.

WHERE?
The Personalized Fitness Center (PFC) is located on the second floor.

WHEN?
The PFC is open during normal hours of operation. After your first appointment, you may come in to exercise at any time.

Personal Fitness Program Checklist:

Required:

  • A current Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA membership.
  • A commitment on the participant’s part to exercise three times each week for twelve weeks.
  • Participants may be required to obtain a medical clearance from their doctor for certain health issues.

Provided:

  • A moderate, gradual exercise program that is introduced in increments (through five appointments over the course of 12 weeks), using cardiovascular exercise and strength training. The program is located in a separate workout area for the comfort of the
    participant.
  • Personal attention. Participant’s progress will be tracked by the YMCA instructor for the duration of the program. Member-to-staff ratio will remain low so that personal
    attention will be readily available.
  • State-of-the-art Keiser strength training equipment will be used. There are 12 pieces of strength training equipment and four types of cardiovascular training equipment
    incorporated into the program.
  • The opportunity to continue exercising in the PFC at the program’s conclusion, or to expand into other areas and programs.
